How easily could I put together 2 green LED lights in a series and make it battery operated?

It needs to be sort of like a ribbon and flexible. I only need to have 2 green LEDs on it. I understand much of the science behind electricity, but I have very little experience doing electrical work; the tiny "device" I have to make is so simple, I think I could do it through a little study(I think I may need some resistors). How easily can I do this, which websites or places(besides Radioshack) are the best places to get supplies? Any good educational websites that could teach me how to do this? Thanks.

The 1st reference below shows how to hook up a simple LED circuit. Depending on the LED you pick, you may or may not need the resistor. Most (but not all) LEDs want about 1.5V across them, so an AA, AAA or even a button cell could power it depending on how long you need the power to last. If the LED is too bright, add a 500~1000 ohm resistor between it and the battery.

If you need 2 LEDs, you could either have 2 separate battery-LED circuits or put the LEDs in parallel across the same battery. The LED polarity markings are also shown in the reference. You can buy supplies at R.S. or online at distributors like digikey.com. In order to pick the color (green), size (miniature) & cost LED you want, you also need to decide viewing angles (wide), voltage (1.5V) and brightness. So you may want to narrow it down and buy a few types to try. You may also need to buy wire, tools and soldering supplies if you don't have access to them.
