i got myself a strip light for the front room and to round lights for the kitchen (there on a round plate with 3 lights coming off) i took of the original rose and replaced it with the new light fitting, but everytime i turned the light of at the switch it tripped the main switch in the electric box, it will stay on but when i turn it off it immediatly trips, now when i replaced the original rose i muddled up the wires in the flex (2 holes) loop (3 holes) and flex (3 holes) and it ended up with me being able to turn the light on from the kitchen the front room light is on a double switch the 2nd switch turns our porch light on, now if the wires can be muddled around to do that surly it must have to be put on a certain way when putting the new fitting on any advice people its stressing me out (apart from a electrician) lol
Sounds like you have gotten some wires crossed. Electricians use cables with black and white wires. Most times a neutral (white) and a hot (black) are brought into the light fixture box and out to another light. A switch leg is then used from the hot to the switch and back to the light fixture.
This confuses alot of home owners. And if you dont know which wires go to the switch you are lost. Sounds like you have taken a neutral and hot to the switch and are tripping the breaker when you turn it on. OR you have a three way switch that turns the light on from more then one location. In which case there is no hope to explain it without confusing you more. Call an electrician or you will go nuts.

Springfield Armory XDm 40 Field Strip and Tac Light
How can I tell which flourescent light bulb fits into my strip flourescent light fixture?
I just moved into the house and the strip light fixtures in the garage do not have light bulbs. the brand of light fixture is Cooper lighting and appears that the bulbs would be between 69 and 72 inches long with two prongs on each end. the fixture doesnt say what size bulbs to buy only says 660W 120V. anyone have any suggestions? I am not able to find 72 inch bulbs with two prongs, only one.
You need an F70T8. You could take cover off fixture and verify off of the ballast but it may have listings for several bulbs on it. The 660 watt is the rating on the socket, not the bulb size. It is an odd size bulb so you may have to go to a local electrical supply house to find. I doubt Home Depot or Lowes has this size.
