Bar Street Marmaris Turkey
what is the purpose for that white painted bar across the street at stop signs and lights.?
why do you think people pull past the white stop bar when they stop at a red light or stop sign.
That white line is also the "crosswalk" for pedestrians. thats why you're not supposed to cross them, that's where people walk. but in country areas where there aren't any people crossing, it's just a safety line to keep the intersection clear.
Some people cross the line because they feel that it's just way, too far back. Sometimes they need to see what's coming so they can turn, etc.
The intersection is supposed to be clear of any cars pulled up into it.

In the five years since the last All Girl Summer Fun Band album, 2, the group lost one member, bassist Ari Douangpanya (who left to pursue motherhood), and had another member, drummer Kathy Foster, hit it big as a member of indie punks the Thermals. Neither of these two distractions has led to any drop in quality on 2008's Looking Into It, and the record is their most mature and fully realized release to date. Their approach hasn't changed much, still rollicking and sweet with equal parts indie pop and punky pop informing the sound. This time out, Kim Baxter's vocals are more assured and the songs revolve around more grown-up versions of crushes, heartbreak, and love though. No silly odes to Jason Lee or video games here. While those kinds of songs were fun, it's more satisfying to hear the bandmembers apply their considerable talents to songs with some real emotions flowing through them. It's also nice that the group has traded in the slightly shambling feel of previous efforts with a more focused and intense attack. Foster's more muscular drumming and the louder guitars keep things rocking on the uptempo tracks, and the lovely vocal harmonies give the ballads a real punch. Check the mostly instrumental title track or the almost heavy album closer, "This Will Never End," a song that betrays a previously unthinkable metal influence, for some serious rock action. On the softer side, look to "Rewind" or the fragile "Lost" for a dose of melancholy heartbreak. It's possible that fans of their earlier work will miss the more amateurish and cute element of the All Girl Summer Fun Band's sound; hopefully those fans will realize that the group has grown and changed without sacrificing the core of tenderness and energy that made it so good to begin with. That's a rare feat, and the trio accomplishes it in style on Looking Into It. ~ Tim Sendra, Rovi Performers: Jen Sbragia - Glockenspiel, Guitar, Bass, Vocals; Jen Sbragir - Guitar, Vocals; Kathy Foster - Handclapping, Keyboards, Guitar, Drums, Vocals; Kim Baxter - Handclapping, Guitar, Keyboards, Bass, Vocals

Best Samsung LED TV
LED or LCD HDTV what is better and what should I be looking for, to get the best quality!?
I am in the market for a new tv 47", but Im not sure what is the best, and I am not sure what the mhz's and hp's factor in!
I had the same questions a few months ago, did some investigating, actually a lot. I finally bought the LED/LCD. There were many reasons why, but mostly I bought it because it will last longer and have less picture problems. The LED part is very tiny like miniature christmas lights, so if one goes out it won't show very much. The LCD errors show much more, and it heats up more which is not good for the set.
Red Blue Police Why are police lights on a car blue and red?
Does it make a diffrence what the color of the lights are for?
why aren't they 10 diffrent colors like a disco ball driving down the street??
They are only that combo some places.
Traditionally in the US cop cars had red lights only.
In most of Europe they had blue.
In the 1960's the idea of motorized patrol took over and authorities wanted people to see police cars more often, ,making them think police where all around.
So many changed to blue.
In California the law still says that a police car must have a steady (not flashing) red light in order to be an emergency vehicle. So all police in California have at least one red light.
In my city we have blue and white.
White flashing can be seen better in daylight.
Blue and green can be seen better than red in fog or smoke

Green Led Sound what do telecasters sound like with lots of distortion and power chords?
you always see those country guitarists and their telecasters, but I think they are watering down the guitars true potential...
can you find me a video of any rock bands (like green day?) the use telecasters? I know Led zepplin used a telecaster in one of their albums, I just want to make sure I can still rock out on this thing beofore I buy it and not sound like some red-neck guitarist, thanks.
Foreman, go and take another listen to the song, Heartbreaker, from Led Zepplin I. That song, with it's very ornate and virtuosic solo, is pure Telecaster. Played through a small tube amp, the tone is killer! The Tele was his main guitar and used on the first three Led Zepplin albums and also on the solo for Stairway to Heaven, so it would be hard to argue that the Telecaster is not an apt rock guitar as Page's work on those albums exemplifies definitive rock guitar playing and tone. And isn't it interesting that some of the truly defining rock guitar tone was produced by a Telecaster played through a tube amp moderately distorted.
I would say to you, that perhaps you are not the guitarist to get the most out of the this guitar and that this guitar will not produce the sound you're hoping for. This is a simple guitar with an amazingly bright and twangy single-coil bridge pickup which is what really puts the stamp on the Tele sound. The neck pickup is also a single-coil and has lots of nice highs and the combination with the neck and bridge pickups together is a stabbing tone perfect for blues playing. This is a guitar that sounds terrific in the hands of a player who is more interested in things like clearly defined expression in right hand technique, and intricately woven single note lines or more extended and unconventional harmony, which is probably why it has become the guitar of choice for country players over years. The brightness and "twang" are unequalled and supply the perfect tonal palette for that kind of clearly articulated and fast-picked sort of playing that is germaine to country styled guitar playing.
But this guitar really shines played through a tube amp that is either just starting to break up or that is being pushed moderately hard.
This guitar will not do anything extraordinary for you if you are just banging out three chord rock, a la Green Day, through a heavily distorted amplifier, in fact, with the lower output single coil pickups, it may not give you the distortion you want it to. Why bother getting a Tele? The great subtleties of tone that make the Tele so great for the clean player whose lines are intricately woven or aromatically complex will be lost on that sort of plain-jane, simple-minded and most basic rock music. Talk about watering down the potential of a Tele! If all you want to do is plod along banging out distorted power chords in a simple and workmanlike manner then get a guitar set up with humbuckers, get an amp that will distort heavily, put some pedals, like a tube screamer, between your guitar and the amp and you'll probably be much happier. If you're going that route, the choice of guitar will make much less difference and you might as well just choose something that looks fashionable.
It saddens me to hear you dismiss country players as "red-neck guitarists" as that is a very short-sighted and close-minded statement. I would submit that some of the best guitarists ever to play have come from the tradition of country music. Listen to Les Paul, Chet Atkins or Hank Garland and tell me that they are not superior to any fashionable poseur du jour who dishes out the latest fad in simple rock music.
If you really want to hear a Telecaster played well and to its full potential, you should go out and search for some clips by these players:
Danny Gatton - in my book, first and last word on the guitar. Fender made a signature model for him which is still available. Listen to him wail on Harlem Nocturne, or astonishingly fast Memphis style picking, brilliant hot jazz or fantastic blues - he could do it all and did it all on a Tele.
Roy Buchanan - a very fine blues/rock guitar player whose life ended too soon. There are many clips of him wailing on youtube. Amazing chops and fantastic tone.
Scott Anderson - this guy is primarily a country guitarist but is fully versant in jazz and has taken guitar playing to some exciting and mind boggling extremes with his technique. He is a must-hear. A clean player with astonishing technique.
Redd Volkaert - if you think that a country guitarist can't rock, listen to Red Vokaert work his Tele.
Watch some old SNL reruns and pay attention to G.E. Smith leading the SNL band. He mostly played an old Tele and that guy could really rock.
Listen to some Hellecasters tracks or anything with Will Ray - terrific player.
Listen to Albert Collins, or Muddy Waters, or Albert Lee - all devout Tele players.
Listen to Andy Summers with the Police - he mainly played a Tele on all their recordings.
There are few guitars that inspire the kind of vehement loyalty from masterful players the way the Tele has.
Again, the choice of amplification will make a huge difference and as you add more signal processing you will lose more of what is so special about this guitar's sound. An amplifier, particularly a good tube amplifier that is being driven just past the break up point will provide the ideal pairing with the Tele. From the wording you chose for your question I'm going to guess that you would most likely not be happy with this guitar, you're probably not a Tele player.
. . .
Docscholl??? A man after my own heart! Yes, my Tele is the only guitar I reach for nowadays and my Vibrolux Reverbs are my only amps I use. I have two 65 Vibrolux Reverbs, a 69 Vibrolux Reverb with the metal drip edge and a blonde model of the Custom Vibrolux Reverb (not as nice as the vintage ones). These are hands down, my favorite amps. I also have a Deluxe Reverb, a 65 Princteon Reverb, an 80s Mesa Boogie and a few others, but the Vibrolux Reverb with the Tele is a match made in heaven! Are you from DC?? The Tele through a Vibrolux Reverb is a real DC guitar player's rig! Have you heard the song "DC's a Telecaster Town"??
