Pvc Neon Light Can PVC Pip and Clay Pots make your water cloudy?
i have 2 clay pots and PVC pipe in my new tank. I washed everything off except the PVC pipe and the clay pots i just washed off with water. Everything else i washed in vinegar and washed really good with water. I put stuff in my tank for cloudiness and it still is cloudy. What can cause cloudiness? Could it even be my light? It's an Aqua Rays Fresh and Salt water neon bulb.

Can' remember anything else after that except near the end. The dad is chasing a kid around the canals of venice in a boat and the kid is wearing a red cape like red riding hood. He hops off the boat to find the kid through a door and the door doesn't go anywhere, so they're standing in a corner with the kids back to him. LED lighting is vital when living 'off-grid' in an RV or Boat. Off-grid means to living in a self-sufficient manner without reliance on one or more public utilities, like electrical power, natural gas, water, or waste. RVers often search for sustainable living by going off-grid, thinking it is a cheap way of living.
Living off-grid is not necessarily cheap, nor is it simple and easy. Expect to do a lot of planning and work, and don't be surprised by the investment needed. To be successful at sustainability, you must reach a balance. The need for LEDs is a good example.
In many boats and RV coaches with incandescent and/or fluorescent lighting, the installed lighting uses over half of the total 12-volt DC load on the batteries. When you include the added load on the air conditioners to remove the heat generated by the lights, it is even higher. When you are on-shore -- or camped in an RV park -- it is no problem, but when your primary power source is solar energy from the sun, power consumption becomes an immediate concern and excessive usage can make the difference between staying out as long as you want, or coming back to shore to find a recharge (or running your generator).
My choice of living is a good example. The Prudent RVer is an Internet retailer that we operate when even when boondocking in the desert. Our simple business still needs two hours of connectivity each day. This typically requires 25 amp-hours each day to power the TV, DirecTV Receiver, Internet Access, Modem, Router, two laptop computers, and occasionally the printer.
Previously, before we had LEDs, we typically burned four to seven 921 bulbs and a fluorescent that produced about 1,600 lumens of lighting for five or six hours in the winter months. This required about 8 amps for 6 hours, totaling 48 amp-hours. I had to plan on our boondocking consumption to therefore total 73 amp-hours per day.
My rig has only 240 watts of solar panels using a solar-boost controller. On average I could expect to recharge my batteries with as much as 45 amp-hours on a good solar day. That meant I could be 28 amp-hours short at the end of the first day, another 28 amp-hours short the second day, and so on for every day thereafter, until my batteries dried up.
But when I switched to LEDs for my lighting, I required only 2 amps to produce the 1,600 lumens, meaning I only needed about 11 amp-hours each evening. Now my solar system only has to replace 25 plus 11 or 36 amp-hours each day, and the 240 watt panels can do that, even on an overcast day. I can even surf the web a little longer each night.
Of course, the Big Guys will have more solar, but they also have more toys and more lights. The same balance is required whatever your size when running 'off-grid'." It all comes down to using LEDs if you really want to stay off-grid with solar power.
I'm the Prudent RVer, and my experience tells me this is so.

capacitor(s) for my LED accent lights?
I have some LED strip lights installed on my boat for some accent lighting. They're powered through my stereo head unit so I can turn them on/off with the remote. Problem is when the stereo's turned up the lights dim when the bass hits. I've got a 1.2 farad cap for the amp, but would adding a small capacitor for each of the LED strip lights help? Or maybe a bigger cap for the amp? I can't add any more batteries.
I should've said the LED lights are controlled by the head unit, but they actually get power from the batteries. The head unit just has a rmote controlled circuit I use to turn the lights on/off, it doesn't actually provide the 12v to power them.
As for an alternator, I'm limited to what's on the outboards. I have twin motors and no way to upgrade the alternator, plus they're still under warranty anyway. Not to mention 3/4 of the time I'm at anchor and the motors are off. I do have two large batteries (Odyssey pc 2150's, reserve capacity of 205 minutes each).
I would try running relays to the led strips. This way you can run the power wires directly from the battery and the stereo is only required to put enough power to trip the relays, which is next to nothing in the ways of amperage. I wouldn;t think the LED's would actually require a capacitor, as the leds do not pull much in the way of power, but if the power going to them was being used by another source such as the headunit, that would cause the dimming.
