Is it illegal to have LED lights on the exterior, and interior on while driving?

I am going to install these on the interior and exterior, but is it illegal in Canada, more specifically Nova scotia to have them on while driving? Be specific as possible if there is a certain speed limit and stuff

They are not illegal "BUT" it can cause a distraction to other drivers and that you can be cited for.

Anyone know how to wire interior automotive LED's to the fuse box?

I have a 2001 Monte Carlo SS. I'm wondering if anyone can help me out on how to wire my LED's to my fuse box. Just got them today, it would be greatly appreciated if anyone could get back to me ASAP. Thanks.

ground to negitive wire to the frame then hook the posiive around a fuse then put it back in then run ur on/off switch from the fuse the the leds and u should be good to go

Powered Led Light

I have a flashing green led power light on my hp desktop after a brown out and i cant start the pc. any ideas?

Umm... good problem. You may have to call up your PC manufacturer to fix this. It could also be what I've called "stand-by lock". Sometimes a computer will go into standby mode and not want to come out.

The only thing I can think of that has worked in that past was hold down the power button for about 10 to 20 seconds. It will hopefully power-off the PC/green LED. Then hit the power button again and see if it comes up.

If that doesn't work, it could be the power supply or possibly something on the motherboard fried. Brown-outs, surges, and other power issues are the bane of computers.

Determine transformer power for LED light build?

I'm trying to determine how powerful my transformer needs to be to build a light of 15 LEDs 5mm 13k mcd 12v dc... any help would be appreciated.

Need the specifications on the LEDs. Typically they use 10 or 20 mA each, so 15x20ma is 300 mA

Not a transformer, that won't work, you need a DC supply, good for maybe 6 volts at 300mA. Each LED needs a resistor in series with it to limit the current, At 20mA and 2 volts (typical Vf) that is 200 ohms each.

But this is for a typical 2 volt 20mA LED, the ones you have may be totally different.

You mention 12 volts, but LED's do not require 12 volts unless you have ones with an internal resistor, in which case, skip the 200 ohm resistors and you need a 12 volt supply at maybe 300 mA, maybe more.

Green Pre Wired

Would missing ionizing wires and pre-filters cause an electronic furnice filter not to power on?

I have just purchased a new home and with it has come an electronic furnace filter attached to my furnace. It is a Trion MAX4 model:TRIMT WA.
Both Input (green) and output (Red) voltage LED's do not light up whether the unit is turned on or off and the furnace fan is running. There is also no "ticking" noise and I can tell you that the filters are definitely dirty.
I check inside and I am missing the two pre-filters and 5 ionizing wires. Would this cause the unit to not power-up? Should I buy the wires and pre-filters or a whole new unit?

The pre-filters are there to take out the bigger dust. Then the wires collect the small dust by creating a charge that attracts the dust. It can't work without the wires. If it looks in good shape otherwise I would get new wires and filters. If it looks really old an dfilthy it may be better to replace the entire thing. I had a Sears model and it didn't work well at all. I went back to regular filters.

As good as "Blue Wind" is, it would have benefited from the Walden/Bascomb rhythm section and a horn arrangement by Martin. My bulb fused for no reason!?

Okay. So today I wanted to do a science project regarding electricity. I cut open a pre-existing torchlight to save on costs and got 5 bright LEDs from it. They were wired in parallel and there were 4 LR44 1.5 volt button cells inside. Since the bulbs were in parallel, I assume that each bulb can take the 6 volts in total? Then, I got a D size battery holder and 4 D batteries. I wired everything correctly, and since D's were also 1.5 volts, I see no reason why the bulb should fuse. I was testing all 5 bulbs I had, then...

Boom, one of the bulbs just started going green, then yellow, then nothing. (They are white LEDs). The bulb looks fused so WHY???

Okay, SOOO well the torch was basically just 5 LEDs with a metal casing forming part of the circuit. I tried the remaining 4 LEDs with 2 batteries and they work fine. Thanks guys!

LEDs are not bulbs

Did you put a resistor between the LED and the power source?

You basically discharged the current stored in four batteries through an LED (which has low resistance in one direction, but high resistance in the other).

That LED will never work again.

What type of vehicle shop would wire/set up neon under glow?

I am interested in yellow neon under glow for my yellow 04 mazda rx8. After previous experience wiring my sound system, I don't want to deal with the hassle of more wiring and placement again. So what kind of shop would do such a job for me? Should I try an audio store since they always deal with wiring, or is there something better to look into? Thanks!

I would try an Audio Store or Automotive repair....Maybe even a Auto Electric repair garage. The main thing is shop around and get firm estimates on the cost of installation. It is a fairly simple task hooking them up to the lighting system. Good Luck!
