Led Light How does the LED light in a Nintendo Wii change colors?
I always thought that there were three different color led's in close proximity to the light, and that they would just alternate, but I don't know if that's the case here.
You might be right - three separate LEDs used - but the most common size of LED is 5mm so I can't imagine them being used in the Wii as they might be too big. Maybe three miniature LEDs (at 2mm each), but my guess is that the Wii uses a bi-colour (or tri-colour) LED where two LEDs are in one case. They either light separately to make individual colours, or they light periodically (or together) to blend and make a third colour (red and green, for example, when lit together would make a yellowy/orange light).
As I've not taken my Wii apart to check I can't say for sure.

Almost everyone today knows what an LED light is in the most general sense, but few are aware of how fast it is set to become the main source of general lighting in both homes and businesses. An additional benefit of LED lighting is that only a very small amount of UV or IR radiation is emitted, making it highly useful for locations where valuable art is hung on the wall or fading may be an issue.
The current market is full of LED replacement bulbs and lighting solutions, but it is also buyer beware. There is a lot of junk on the market today that if bought and tried will surely disappoint you. Well made LED replacement bulbs are still pricey and the cheap products on the market today, a lot of them being sold through big box stores, will not last nor produce or sustain a bright enough light. In the meantime, it is important to buy your LED lighting from a trustworthy source with good customer service in case of any problems you might experience with this new technology. I want to light up the inside of my motorcycle with LED lights for greater visibility at night, but there are no motorcycle stores around where I live. I really don't want to order from the internet, because it's nearly impossible to tell how bright they are REALLY. So, can I run to Pep Boys and use their LED accent lights for cars on my motorcycle?
