So, I've been looking into LED lighting, can I buy replacement bulbs for a floor lamp that use LED technology instead of halogen or fluorescent? I know LEDs can be too narrow (I installed them in my car) and was wondering if they would accurately replicate the amount of light given off by a conventional bulb, and if they would be a simple screw-in replacement with the old bulbs.
LED technology is not yet advanced enough to totally replace conventional light bulbs. I love LEDs more than anything, but am still waiting for them to get better.
Right now they are good for back lighting, under cabinet lighting or accent lighting. But they do not put out the amount of lumens that a conventional or compact fluorescent bulb can.
Many manufacturers are stating that their LED replacement bulbs are putting out an equal amount of lumens, but the bottom line is that they are actually just not as bright.
Also the price is way too high for a good quality bulb right now.
Stick with compact fluorescent bulbs until the LEDs get a bit better and cheaper.

The Halos are LED the yellow colour comes from you headlight bulb being Halogen. In the P/Heads picture that had a HID conversion on it thats why it has the blue/white tinge.
Either get some Philips Blue vision bulbs or splash out on a HID conversion kit.

It is a '94, 2+2, pettry much everything is stock, 19" chrome wheels, 225/35/19 on front and 255/35/19 rear, HID lights 10,000k. Custom original JDM side markers. Inside and out are in pettry good condition, with a few dents on the hood. It has 109,000 miles on it, manual transmission.
I would list it for at least 5k, it you think its worth it, most people looking to buy those cars, are die hards and really know there s#!t and know what to look for, as far as wear and tear, unless you find some 19 year old kid, but you should at least get $4000 if it looks good, also most look right over the 2+2 models, i would.

Its hard to compare the three since different bulbs and "number" of bulbs differ in their output. LED bulbs -- single -- has the lowest output that's why you usually see 25 of them at a time on a flashlight.
Standard small halogens bulbs produce around 350-400 lumens.
Xenon and HID are the same thing, Xenon is the gas inside of the HID bulb and has the most lumens. If you are looking at 400 lumens you want to stay away from HID. HID produces around 3000 lumens.
First Reference is the output of a HID bulbs, the 2nd reference is only for 55W Halogens but you can see the difference in lumens and candles.
