does anyone have xenon hid with ballast for their headlight? and do they have any problem with it? will it damage our headlight electrical if we hook it to our regular stock headlamp instead of buying projector for it? will it blind people?

i dont have a kit but i do want one. what i have read, they say that the kits will not damage the electricals and will work fine. just plug and play. they are a bit brighter than halogens. so it will be slightly brighter to others.

Just to add to what the other guy said, don't be fooled by cheap "xenon bulbs" on ebay. These may look like the average h7 bulb for example, but have a blue coating on them. Even if they contain xenon gas, they are pretty poor performers. A real hid kit will include a ballast to generate the thousands of volts required to arc across the bulb, this is only for ignition of the bulb. Also, don't always expect to have a great beam pattern, if you have standard reflectors there will be "glare" and you will have to aim them down. Finally, don't go over 6000k temperature, the rating (Kelvin) will just tell you the color. 6000k would be bluish white. Stock factory hid bulbs are around 4300k (plain white) which offers the best visibility.

I am thinking about whether i should just get a xenon HId bulb itself and install in on my stock headlamp or buy the whole kit with it... which would be better..

I dont want to blind people or get a ticket also...couldnt I just make the light face downward to the ground?

No you can't aim the light into the ground, that is illegal, and makes your headlamps useless. No you can't just buy an actual HID bulb and put it in, although you can buy street legal xenon-halogen bulbs. And most of the kits sold on E-Bay aren't DOT approved, and some of them don't work.
There are proper, approved HID conversion kits for some, not all vehicles, but they are not cheap.

HID kit xenon legal?

I would like to install a blue HID light xenon kit for my headlight... I just wanted to ask whether it is legal and what is the watt light power for it to be legal? or is all HID Xenon illegal

Anything that did not come with your car off the factory line is illegal...lights included. HID ares great but the headlights have to be designed correctly in order to get full use out of them. Cars with halogen bulbs being converted to HID will benefit from the light output, but the beam will be very spread out and jagged due to the refelctive backing is most headlight housings. Cars that come with HID from the factory have what is referred to as projector style headlights. These lights use a curved lens to direct the beam of light,which results in a smooth and farther reaching light pattern.

I want a 2008 IS 250 AWD automatic with just Zenon HId lights, but with no Navigation. Dealership found one car within 500 miles that has this, but wants me to pay half of the "transportation fee of $1000".

If you want the car, it seems to me that paying half the shipping is a good deal. Remember, your dealer is doing the legwork, and making a trade with another dealer for the car. Since you want it new, it is going to be trucked, not just driven, from one dealership to the other.
